This auction is for totally organic, naturally refined, ponderosa pine sap, also known as Colophony sap. This is pure pine resin collected recently from pine trees in an environmentally friendly method. It has been heated and strained to remove bark, needles, and misc tree pieces. We use a tiny bit of isopropyl alcohol (it evaporates during heating) to make it thin enough to be strained and poured into molds. No other chemicals are added. The result is totally fresh ponderosa pine sap strained and ready for countless uses. If frozen it becomes quite hard/dense and if warmed it will become gooey and fresh. At room temperature these 3oz cakes resemble the consistency of hard caramel and are not brittle like competitors products.

Natural Pine Rosin is an ingredient in salves, printing inks, paper products, varnishes, adhesives (glues), soap, fluxes, bush craft and sealing wax. In industry rosin is the precursor to the flux used in soldering. It is also used on musical instrument strings, as a grip for gymnasts, dancers, bull riders, baseball pitchers, as well as a rosin to dress bow strings and arrows in archery. Pine pitch is also used for doing fine art such as a backing when embossing metals. It's even used in incense and for spiritual healing. These are just a few of the many uses of colophony resin.

This is pure pine resin, and may still contain some residual natural toxic vaporous turpines though most of it boils off in the heating process. Do not ingest! Not for human consumption! Store in well ventilated area. Suggested to handle with nitrile gloves as it is very sticky. Keep away from clothes, furniture, etc. as it is difficult to remove from fabrics. If it is on fabric use a pine sap removal agent available from supermarkets or hardware stores.
